The HKU-iLab successfully secured a competitive grant entitled "BIM Square": Blockchain and i-Core-enabled Multi-stakeholder Building Information Modelling Platform for Construction Supply Chain Management in Hong Kong. We are now offering several Post-Doc Fellow (PDF), Ph.D., and Research Associate/Research Assistant (RA) positions with a very competitive salary.

Background
As a vibrant industry in a resource-limited city, construction in Hong Kong is highly relied on construction logistics and supply chain management (CLSCM). Almost every piece of construction materials and components must be sourced from outside suppliers and transported back to congested sites in Hong Kong. The CLSCM attracts much more attention from multiple stakeholders, mostly as more expensive assets such as complex precast components and Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) units are shipped every day. The importance of CLSCM, therefore, can never be overemphasized. The local universities and the industry have collaboratively developed a world-renowned reputation by embracing the latest technological solutions to CLSCM, e.g., BIM + IoT solutions for CLSCM. However, persistent problems on trust and interoperability of information, e.g., related to quality assurance, provenance, traceability, compliance, and efficiency, are challenging the extensive and profound impact of such solutions.

Job Information
To address the above issues, the HKU-iLab successfully secured a competitive grant entitled "BIMSquare": Blockchain and i-Core-enabled Multi-stakeholder Building Information Modelling Platform for Construction Supply Chain Management in Hong Kong. The HKU-iLab is now offering several Post-Doc Fellow (PDF), Ph.D., and Research Associate/Research Assistant (RA) positions with a very competitive salary. The following positions are available to join exciting strategic research and development on Blockchain, BIM, IoT, Supply Chain Management, and Modular Construction.
Post 1: PDF/RA/Ph.D. (x2) (IoT)
The candidates should have a strong background and experience in IoT sensing (Spatio-temporal data), hardware design, and protocols, e.g., LoRaWAN/Nb-IoT, edge and fog computing, blockchain oracles protocols.
Post 2: PDF/RA/Ph.D. (x3) (Blockchain)
The candidates should have a strong background and experience in the theory and development of blockchain technology (3.0 and4.0), distributed consensus and fault tolerance mechanisms, privacy-preserving information sharing, smart contract, and chain code (e.g., Hyperledger Fabric or EOS).
Post 3: PDF/RA/Ph.D. (x3) (Open BIM)
The candidates should have a strong background and experience in open BIM standards, IFC semantics, BIM collaboration format (BCF), and IFC server. Those with BIM certificates will have higher priority.
Post 4: PDF/RA/PhD (x2) (Modular Construction)
The candidates should have a strong background and experience in modular construction, supply chain management, offsite production quality control, logistics scheduling, on-site assembly.
Post 5: PDF/RA/Ph.D./SoftwareEngineer (x2) (Web BIM)
The candidates should have a strong background and experience in Web BIM development, BIM and GIS integration, WebGL, JSON, Java servlet.
Post 6: PDF/RA/Ph.D./Software Engineer (x2)
(Web and Mobile App)
The candidates should have a strong background and experience in web service and mobile app development with Java, Kotlin, Object C, AR Kit, ARCore, SQL, Android SDK, C#, and HTML5.
Post 7: Project Assistant (x1)
The candidates should have a background and experience in administration, financial management, human resources, website management (e.g., WordPress, Wix).
The candidates should have a bachelor's degree or a master's or a Ph.D. degree in the relevant areas.
